The Digital Content Coordinator at Heritage Werks is a copywriter, creative problem solver and QC point person for clients including professional sports teams (MLB, NBA, NHL and NFL) and Fortune 500 clients.
Work hand-in-hand with historians and creatives on web-based digital museums, interactive touchscreens, live video presentations and more. Write catchy headlines, clickable calls to action and engaging content. Learn new technologies and new skills working as part of the Content & Communications team.
This is an entry level position suitable for a relatively recent grad (history majors preferred) or someone with a few years of professional experience looking to expand their skills. Work arrangements flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Copywriting and image curation for creative projects in collaboration with our historians including:
- Writing engaging headlines, calls to action, trivia questions and more based on provided historical research and archival collections
- Providing copy and image selections for client communications materials about archival programs, including coordination with internal design resources
- Drafting website copy, including implementing SEO guidelines and recommending relevant key words
- Curating images/links and draft copy to shape social media campaigns
- Coordinating and managing content for multiple creative projects including websites, digital “museums”, touchscreens and other location-based content platforms, live and virtual interviews and presentations, etc. Responsibilities include:
- Managing a regular editorial calendar of updates and site refreshes, including formatting content to meet CMS backend set up, uploading and publishing content)
- Assisting with website maintenance, including basic HTML and CSS changes, troubleshooting and analytics reporting
- Providing QC, proofreading and UX testing to ensure that all creative projects meet execution standards
- Supporting recording, transcription and other technical support on video calls on Zoom, Team and other platforms
- Executing additional projects as needed, including creating content for exhibits, history presentations, etc., in coordination with historians, archivists, and designers
- Additional duties as assigned, including occasional administrative duties
- Reports to the Creative Execution Manager and may also work closely with historians, researchers and the Director of Content & Communications
Qualifications:
- Proven experience writing engaging and clickable copy for a general audience
- Professional experience working with creative digital projects such as in a digital agency, corporate communications team, sports front office, museum, etc.
- BA/BS history major/minor or equivalent experience with academic or public history
- Collaborative spirit with strong communication skills and excited to learn new things
- Organized and responsible, proven attention to detail
- Proven ability to shift priorities quickly and with good humor
- WordPress or similar CMS experience preferred
- Passionate sports fan a plus
- Copyediting training a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with Google Analytics or basic HTML a plus
- Adobe Creative Suite experience (Acrobat DC and Photoshop) a plus
